Old Me/New Me Reading 2011

I found this spread by Diane Wilkes and decided to give it a try this year. Here is the link for the spread:

Now, this is what I got:
Card 1: What negative quality do I wish to transform in the coming year? Six of Wands
Card 2: What positive quality do I wish to nurture in the coming year? Ten of Wands
Card 3: What new energy do I wish to inculcate in the coming year? Queen of Wands
Card 4: What story do I need to tell this year? Two of Swords.
Card 5: What aspiration would I be wise to conceive? Five of Swords.

General Considerations: No Major Arcana cards which means I am acquiring or assimilating Minor Arcana experiences this year to prepare me for future transformations. There are no Cups of Pentacles. Does this mean that there is an imbalance or lacking? I understand that given the questions of the spread, these two suits may not have any relevance. The abundance of Wands and Swords may indicate that my perspective is from the energy of these two suits. This makes me conclude that the approach I am taking to these questions are spiritual in nature (wands) and that I want the truth behind this topic.

Now for the individual cards.
Card 1: The negative quality I want to transform is lack of confidence/ low self esteem. Or is it a false pride, feeling superior type of issue?
Card 2: This is a card that is always related with a burden that is too heavy, but this is a position for a positive quality. I understand that the positive quality is related to accepting the responsibility and have the perseverance and the determination to carry on the task, no matter how heavy it may be.
Card 3: The energy is definitely feminine. Using the intuitive part of myself. This queen's energy is the one of a woman who has confidence and knows where she is going and what to do to get there. Freedom of expression without considering the opinion of other is also indicated by this card.
Card 4: This card confuses me in this position. Is the story I need to tell this year about removing the blindold? Do I need to integrate the unconscios with the conscious in order to take wise decisions? Um!
Card 5: Another puzzle! Would it be that my aspiration for this year is to win the battle no matter what? Should I put myself first in any endeavor I am going to be dealing with?

Once in a Very Blue Moon Spread

January 1st, 2010. Blue Moon of December 31st, 2009

Deck: Universal Tarots

Card One: What about me is unique and rare?

10 of wands: This card signifies in many instances a burden, an overloan on your shoulders. But as a response to the question, the first thing to get to my mind was my capacity for multitasking. Thas is for me routine. From other sources, I have learned that "multitasking" is the way of 2010 at universal level, so I was not surprised at all to see this card. After consulting other books of tarot, I found interesting information related to this card: "take time for your personal journey" (from Tarot Bible). This is also related for my plans for the future in regard to spiritual activities.

Card Two: What unusual subject(s) should I focus on in the coming month?

3 of coins: This card is related to work, with skills. The focus this month is related to my skills and abilities. I interpretet it, to follow up with the same topic, with the fact that I need to use my knowledge and spiritual gift for selfguide and to plan my future in a couple of years. "Being aware of your potentials" one of the intepretations given in the Tarot Bible. It certainly confirms my interpretation. Also "do work that is satisfaying". That is why I am working in this blog.

Card Three: What should I do that is out of the ordinary this month?

The King of Swords: This king brings intellectual energy. He is articulated, analytic and assertive. That is the way I have to behave this month. The Tarot Bible says“Tap into your mind power”,  "cut through confusion and mental fog”.  In other words, it is absolutely necessary to think and plan first, and later have the discipline to implement the plans. It is important to stay focus and follow the plans.

Card Four: What message does this Blue Moon have for me?

The king of wands: This king's energy is one of self assurance and sometimes, even self-suficient. The message for me is absolutely clear: I need to start believing in myself and my capacities. From Tarot Bible I get: “Believe in yourself!” This king is a master in some sort of art or job. He is a risk-taker, and does not hesitate to risk anything in order to do what he consider his passion. His intuition and knowlege are his guide to achieve what he wants, without paying attention to the opinions and comments of others.
Interpretation:

* Two court cards. Both kings. This is a month to project myself in a different way, with the characteristics and attittude indicated by the two cards. It is interesting that are male energies, more active. Definitely, this reading is directed toward my job and my plans for the future in this field. It is totally consistent with the information obtained through other sources.
*To summarize: Given my ability to multitask, and making an effort to dedicate some time to follow my personal, spiritual path, I should focus on my spiritual skills in order to work on something that satisfies me and makes me happy. The energies of the two kings suggest that I use my analytic capacity and my discipline to achieve my goals. Also I need to trust myself, listen to my intuition and use my knowledge and experience to move ahead with a project that reflects my passion, even if its necessary to take some risks.
